Super Administrator Privileges
A super administrator is a user account that can perform the same AMS Admin Console functions as the AMS Root Account. Creating Super Administrator accounts helps you track actions taken in the system.
AMS Super Administrators can perform more actions than regular Administrators. The table below summarizes functions available to Super Administrators and the AMS Root Account that are not available to regular AMS Administrators.

Creating a super administrator:
- Log into the AMS Admin Console using an existing super administrator account or the AMS Root Account provided by Support.
- From the AMS Admin Console, click User Administration.
- Under the User Administration menu, click Super Admins.
- In the lower part of the page, search for the user account to which you want to assign the Super Administrator role. You can assign this role to any existing account. If you need to create a new account, see Add Mailboxes (Users) Manually or contact Support.
- In the Search field, enter the user name or email address. You can use

as a wildcard. - Click the radio button to indicate a search By Name or By Email Address.
- Click Search. A list of users matching your search parameters appears.
- To give a user super administrator privileges, check the check box for that user under the Add column, then click Add. The user is added to the list of super administrators at the top section of the page.
Removing super administrator privileges
To revoke the administrative rights from an administrator account and demote the account to a regular user:
- Log into the AMS Admin Console using an existing super administrator account or the AMS Root Account provided by Support.
- From the AMS Admin Console, click User Administration.
- Under the User Administration menu, click Super Admins.
- In the upper part of the page, locate the user account from which you want to remove super administrator privileges.
- Check the check box for that user under the Remove column, then click Remove. The user is removed from the list of super administrators at the top section of the page. The user account remains in the system, but has only basic AMS user privileges.
