AMS Admin Console
The AMS Admin Console is a web-based interface that allows you to perform most administrative functions for Email Continuity. Obtain the web address (URL) for the AMS Admin Console from your Support representative. You can log into the AMS Admin Console with the following types of Continuity privileges. Help Desk Users and regular system users cannot log into the AMS Admin Console.
NOTE
Your organization can enable, partially enable, or disable access to the AMS Admin Console based on a user’s IP address. See Network Restrictions.- AMS Root Account: There is only one AMS Root Account. The user name and password for this account are provided to you by Support.
- Super Administrator: Users with AMS Root Account permissions or super administrator permissions can create super administrator accounts. Users with super administrator permissions can perform the same Continuity functions as the AMS Root Account. See Assign Super Administrator Privileges.
- Continuity Administrator: Users with AMS Root Account permissions or super administrator permissions can create Continuity administrator accounts. Continuity administrators can perform all of the functions in the AMS Admin Console except those reserved for super administrators and the AMS Root Account. See Assign Continuity Administrator Privileges.
CAUTION
The AMS Admin Console keeps detailed log entries that record the usernames of individuals who initiate critical activities. For this reason, Support strongly recommends that you use the AMS Admin Console to grant Super Administrator privileges and Continuity Administrator privileges to appropriate accounts rather than sharing the AMS Root Account.Log into the AMS Admin Console:
- Launch a supported web browser and go to the URL provided by Support. The Log In page appears.
- Enter the Continuity account Username. Usernames usually take the form of an email address (such as
user@genericorp.com). Usernames must contain a total of 64 characters or fewer, including the@symbol and the full domain name. - Enter the Continuity account Password.
- Click Login.
