Person or Group Site Column

A person or group column is designed to contain a user or a group of users within the organization.

To configure a person or group site column, enter a name in the Column name textbox and complete the common properties. Then complete the additional column settings unique to this type of column.

Additional Column Settings unique to a person or group site column:

  1. Allow Multiple Selections provides the ability to enter more than one person or group. By default this is set to No.
  2. Allow selection of determines whether the user can select from people or both people and groups.
  3. Choose from allows you to specific if the user can select from all users or from a subset of users contained in a SharePoint group.
  4. Show field allows you to define what information is presented with the person or group in list views and View Item windows.
