Subsites
Subsites provide distinct, manageable sites within the site collection. They allow you to provide unique sites for differing categories of projects while facilitating site collection management.
A subsite, by definition, is subordinate to another site and is referred to as a child of
that site. A subsite can in turn be a parent to a site that is subordinate to it. This
hierarchical relationship allows the subsite to inherit characteristics, such as
permissions, from the parent site.
