Manage Lifecycle Reset of Parent

This section defines the actions to be taken when the parent document’s lifecycle is reset to a draft stage.

Reset lifecycles of child documents

The option to reset the lifecycles of the child documents upon parent lifecycle reset applies only to documents bound by a float and lock relationship.

If this option is enabled, when the parent document is reset to a draft lifecycle stage, the follow events will automatically occur:

  • Any child document(s) that are in a major version:
    • will automatically be reset to a draft state,
    • incremented to the next minor version, and
    • the relationship with the parent will be established with the new minor version of the parent.
  • Any child documents that are in a minor version:
    • the relationship with the parent will be re-established with the new minor version of the parent.

User/Groups to notify

The User/Groups to Notify option allows you to select user or groups to be notified when the parent document lifecycle is reset. The notification is in the form of an email and the text is not configurable.

Each notification will identify the documents in the relationship and indicate which document is the parent and which is the child. The email will also provide a link to each document.

Notify primary authors of child documents

If this option is enabled, the system will issue the reset notification to the Primary Author of each child document in the relationship.
