Add from existing site content types
The Add from existing site content types option allows you to activate a site content type in the current library.
You must enable content management for your library before you are able to add content types. If it is not enabled, the Content Types section will not be displayed on the Library Settings screen.
To add a content type to a Library:
Access the target library.
Navigate to the Library Setting screen by selecting Document Library Settings from the Settings menu at the top of the library window.
- Scroll down the page and select Add from existing site content types under Content Types.
- On the Add Content Types screen:
Select the group that you used to store your site content types from the Select site content types from menu to filter the list of available content types.
Select the content types to be added from the Available Site Content Types box and click the Add button.
Click OK to complete the action.
Note that you can only add a content type once to each library. Once it has been added to a library it will no longer appear in the Available site content types box for that library.
