Audit Log
The Audit Log options are set at the Site Collection Level.
NextDocs provides two audit log formats: the Legacy Audit Log or the new audit log format. The new audit log format is much more robust and easier to read. For a complete list of all audit log events, refer the Audit Log Event Details in the appendix.
The options include:
- Use Legacy Audit Log – does not offer the Local Time Offset or document audit log filter but does allow you to select Log Checkin Comments.
- Use Local Time Offset in Audit Log – provides access to the feature that allows users
to identify their location which will be used in the audit log to display the local time
in addition to the server time.Tip: The Legacy Audit Log and the Local Time Offset are mutually exclusive. The Local Time Offset is not available with the Legacy format.
Logging of Checkin Comments is available with either format.
- Only displayed for user-generated events, not system generated events.
- Not retroactive, meaning that the local time will not be displayed for events that pre-date enabling of the feature.
- Requests user entry or verification of time zone upon login.
- Log Checkin Comments – enables the logging of CheckIn comments.
- Records an NDCheckIn event at check-in that includes the check-in comment. This event is persistent.
