Create a column

There are two way to create a column:

Add from existing site columns

Add from existing site columns allows you to add existing columns to the site content type.

To add an existing site column:

  1. Click on the link.
  2. Select the group where the column is store or “All Groups” to view all columns.
  3. Select the column from the Available columns list.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Select whether to update all content type inheriting from this type.
  6. Click OK.

Add from new site columns

Add from new site columns allows you to create a new column and add it to the site content type in one step.

To add an existing site column click on the link and follow the instructions in the section titled “Add a Site Column to an Environment”.

Column Ordering

Column ordering allows you to modify the order in which the columns will be displayed.

  1. Click on Column Ordering.
  2. Modify the Position from Top values.
