Site Content Type Columns

The Columns section is used to define and manage the columns associated with the Content Type. Each column is displayed as a link to the Change Site Content Type Column screen where the column can be managed. This section contains the following links:

  • The Add from existing site columns link allows you to add columns to the site content type that have already been defined as site columns. For details refer to the section titled: “Add a Site Column to an Environment”
  • The Add from new site columns link allows you to create new site columns and add them to the site content type in one step.
  • The Column order link allows you to modify the order in which the columns will be displayed by modifying the Positions from Top values.
    • Click on Column order.
    • Modify the Position from Top to correspond to the order in which you would like the columns to be displayed.
    • Click on the radio button that indicates whether the content types inheriting from the type will be updated. The default is Yes.
    • Click on the "OK" button to save.
