Create SharePoint Groups

Navigate to the Create Group screen:

1. Navigate to the site where the group will be used.
2. On the site’s home page select Site Permissions from the Site Actions menu.
3. On the Permissions page select Create Group from the Grant section of the Edit ribbon.
   Tip: The system will display a message under the ribbon indicating whether the site inherits permissions from the parent or has unique permissions.

   If your subsite was not created with unique permissions, the system displays the following message at the top of the screen: “This site is using the same permissions as its parent site. The group you create will not automatically get permission to this site. To give group permissions to this site you need to give the group permissions on the parent site.
