Workflow Scoping

The workflow scoping feature allows you to grant users the ability to manually start a workflow. You should configure the workflows first for a manual start to enable manual start of a workflow.

The system allows you to select a workflow and specify what permission level the user should require to manually start the workflow. Additionally, the system allows you to further restrict the manual option to specific lifecycles. Although the workflow scoping feature is available at a document library level and a content type level, workflow scoping and lifecycle should be configured at the same level. As the SOP solution enables lifecycles on the content level, workflow scoping should also be configured at the content level to provide visibility to the lifecycle stages.
