Periodic Review Process
Period Review provides the ability to review a document on a regularly scheduled basis to determine if it needs to be updated. If Periodic Review is configured for the Document Type, the system will schedule the Next Periodic Review based upon: the Effective Date, the Periodic Review Cycle and the Periodic Review Advanced Notice. The Next Periodic Review is calculated as the Effective Date plus the Periodic Review Cycle minus the Periodic Review Advanced Notice.
The Periodic Review Cycle indicates how many days will elapse before the document is due for a review.
The Periodic Review Advanced Notice indicates how many days prior to the next review the Periodic Reviewers should be notified.
Example: for a document with a Periodic Review Cycle of 365 days and a Periodic Review Advanced Notice of 30 days, the Next Periodic Review would be set to 335 days (365-30) from the Effective Date. On that date, the workflow would start and the approvers would be notified.
Periodic Review must be configured for the document type.
The Periodic Review initiates the following events:
- The Workflow Status is set to “Periodic Review Workflow In Progress”.
- Review tasks are generated for each of the periodic reviewers configured for the associated document type.
- An email notification advising of the assigned periodic review task is sent to each reviewer.
