Working Documents Library

The working documents library stores all source documents. The Smart Document feature allows a user to create a new document either directly or upon approval of a new document request. The source documents are saved into the working documents library. Within this library, the documents are processed through their lifecycle.

The working documents library is configured to store documents with both minor and major versions. A minor version document is the document that is in authoring or drafting phase. Once the document is approved, it is published to a major version and a PDF rendition of the document is created if the related document type is configured for a PDF version.

All documents in the working documents library must be checked out before editing them. Access to the Working Documents library is limited as defined in the NextDocs Permissions and Access table.
