Digital Signature

A digital signature is a special type of electronic signature where the record of the signature is actually applied to the content of a document using recognized industry PKI-based standards for digital certificates. The digital signature feature transforms traditional paper-based signing and turns it into an electronic symbol or a fingerprint. The fingerprint is a coded message that is unique to both the document and the signer and binds them together. The digital signature feature ensures the authenticity of the signer, and protects against signature forgery and information tampering. The digital signature feature helps to sustain signer authenticity, accountability, data integrity and non-repudiation of electronic documents and forms.
