Review Document

The document is created with a Lifecycle Status of “Draft” and a version of 0.1. After the document is authored, the user can choose to manually start a review of the document. This is an optional workflow and is not part of the document’s lifecycle.

The review workflow initiates the following events:

  • Turn on Track Changes for the document.
  • Increment the document to the next minor version.
  • Set the Workflow Status to “eTMF Review Workflow In Progress”,
  • Create a review task for each of the users selected to review the document.
  • Send an email notification to each of the users advising that he or she has an assigned review task.

After all tasks are completed, the workflow will turn off Track Changes and set the Workflow Status to “eTMF Review Completed”.

Tip: Since the Review workflow is not part of the lifecycle, the document remains in the “Draft” stage.

To manually initiate a document review, the user would:

  1. Open the document’s menu and select “Access Workflow Details and Actions” from the ECB.
  2. Click on the “Start New Workflow” button.
  3. Click on the “eTMF Review” workflow.
  4. Enter the User-IDs of the proposed reviewers in the Reviewers textbox.
  5. Click on the “Start Workflow” button.
