Configuring Synchronization

Learn how to configure synchronization.

To configure synchronization:

  1. Start the Communication module, see Starting Modules.
  2. Switch to the main office's record in the Station info area.
  3. Switch to the Communication info area, see Defining Communication Connections.
  4. Enable the Synchronization check box for the desired connections.
    Note: Branch offices area always synchronized by the station directly above them in the communication hierarchy. The Synchronization check box must always be enabled for connections to branch offices, but not in the opposite direction.
  5. Enter the synchronization interval in the Sync.Cycle ( Days) field on the Synchronization tab in the station records corresponding to the branch offices (e.g. every 28 days), see Defining Stations.

    If you do not specify an interval, synchronization occurs with each communication session.

  6. Define conditions in the communication format that should be applied to the info areas to be synchronized, see Defining a Communication Format.

    You can use dummy conditions (e.g. New <> <empty>, which is always true) to determine that info areas only restricted using distribution logic records should also be synchronized, see Distribution Logic.
