Communication Logs

Communication logs are stored in the Communication Logs info area for each communication session and import for each station.

To display the communication logs:

  1. Switch to the desired station in the Station info area in the Communication module.
  2. Switch to the Communication Logs info area.

Communication logs are displayed for all communication sessions and imports involving the selected station. Records in the Communication Logs info area can only be deleted by the administrator (SU).

The communication logs contain information on the date, direction, communication format, errors etc. for each communication session. The number of records input or output is displayed for each info area in the table.

Depending on the type of process (input, output, import), the table contains different columns:

Output

If the Output check box is enabled, records are output to the target station (Stat. No. field, in this case station 200) from the info areas listed in the Info Area column.

If synchronization information is output, "Synchronization" is displayed in the field below Output, see Synchronization.

Out: Number of records output.

Synchronization: Number of records that meet the conditions defined in the communication format, see Synchronization Process.

Base Date/Time: Time at which data is last output for the target station. All changes since this point in time are output.

Input

If the Output check box is disabled, records are input from the source station (Stat. No. field) in the info areas listed in the Info Area column.

In: Number of records input.

New: Number of new records added.

Upd .: Number of updated records.

Delete: Number of deleted records.

False: Number of records rejected as false. The following records are rejected as false:

  • Dependent records for which no parent record exists on the target station.
  • Records marked as deleted that are not already present on the target station.

Sim F: Number of records written to the SIM file, see Match-up Types.

Denied: Number of unprocessed records. Unprocessed records are:

  • Records marked as deleted that are already marked as deleted on the target station.
  • Records that should not be input according to the communication format.
  • After inputting changes to the data model ("new DM checked" is entered in the Error field), the data model format is rejected during the actual input process.

Import

A communication logs record is also added when data is imported, see Logging the Import/Export. In this case, "Import" is entered in the field below Output. The import format is entered in the Format field and the import file is entered in the File Name field.

Match: The number of records that are compared with existing data based on your match-up settings. The number of records actually changed as a result is displayed in the Upd column.

Result

The Result field (select View > All Mask Fields from the menu to access the field) contains a summary of the communication logs and can be output in an XML report, see XML Format in the User Manual.

The following fields in the Communication Logs info area contain information on the success or failure of the input/output procedure:

  • File deleted: Boolean field. If true, the input file has been deleted. The communication file is automatically deleted from the IN directory if the input process is successful.
  • If false, the input file is not deleted. The input process is terminated or the file may be corrupt, see Troubleshooting.
  • Error No.: Number of any error that occurred, see Communication Error Codes in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.
  • Error: A description of the error.
  • Status: Status of the communication process (OK, Aborted, Error, Not relevant)
  • Retry date: The date of the last retry.
  • Retry no.: The number of times the system has retried outputting the file. The output process is repeated until the number of days entered in the Days to reception field in the Communication info area is exceeded, see Automatically Repeating Communication.
  • Destination: received: If this check box is enabled, the target station has received the output file (receipt confirmation).
  • Destination: input: If this check box is enabled, the target station has input the output file (input confirmation).
  • Destination: error: If an error occurred on the target station when inputting the file, the error number is written to the output logs on the source station, see Communication Error Codes in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.

Sending Communication Logs via E-mail

To send communication logs via e-mail:

  1. Switch to the Communication info area.
  2. Enable the E-mail (Error) and/or E-mail (Ok) fields for the desired connections to send logs via e-mail if errors occur or the communication is successful.
  3. Click on (Rep List) for each connection, and select the rep that should receive the logs. If no e-mail address is entered for this rep (in the Rep info area), the logs are not sent.
Note: This function requires an e-mail client that supports MAPI.
