Synchronizing using Input Conditions

When synchronizing data using output conditions, dependent records can be retained on branch offices that should no longer be present according to the communication format.

Use the Synchronization option in the communication format to determine (per info area) that data at branch offices should be synchronized based on the input conditions to remove these redundant records.

  1. Define an input condition in the communication format for the branch offices. For example, no activities should be input that are older than 3 months, see Conditional Input.

  2. Enable the Synchronization cell for the Activity info area.
  3. Save the communication format and assign it to the desired communication connection(s), see Defining Communication Connections.
  4. Enable the Synchronization field in the communication connection(s).

Synchronization takes place at predefined intervals (value in the Sync.Cycle ( Days) field defined for the target station).

The branch office only inputs records that meet the input conditions. Records on the branch office that do not meet the input conditions are automatically deleted during the input process. Records added on the target station that do not meet the input conditions are automatically deleted the next time data is input.
