Match-up

New records should not simply be added to Aurea CRM; they should first be compared to existing data in the database.

If an external record in the import file and an internal record in Aurea CRM are the same, you need to define how the data should be merged.

To determine the match-up options for companies and persons:

  • Select DataCompany Match-Up, see Company Match-up.
  • Select DataPerson Match-Up, see Person Match-up.
  • Select DataProperty Match-Up, see Property Match-up (BTB only).
  • Select Info area properties from the context menu and click in the Match Options cell for the Company, Person or Person in Company info area.

Other info areas are matched up using fixed internal key fields, see Match-up Logic for other Info Areas.

You can also match up records using external keys, see Importing with External Keys.

Note: If conditions are applied to the import file (DataDefine Conditions), these are tested before data is matched up. If a record does not meet the conditions, it is rejected as false.

When matching up records using the primary key, a record is rejected if an existing record marked for deletion contains the same primary key. To import this record, you first need to complete the communication cycle so that the record is physically deleted from the database.

However, if you are not matching up records by primary key, a new record is added instead.

You can save the match-up settings as part of the import format.

For information on external match-up options, see External Match-up in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.
