Defining an Import/Export format

You need to define a format for the specific data you want to import or export.

The formats can be defined for importing from or exporting to files and databases. The required format is defined in the corresponding module, see Defining an Import Format for an External File, Defining an Import Format for an External Database and Defining an Export Format to an External File.

Note: A format defined for an external file can be used in the Import and Export modules, irrespective of where it is defined. A format defined for exporting to an external database can only be used for exporting to that database. Similarly, A format defined to import from an external database can only be used for importing from that database.
