Notes on Entering Telephone Numbers

Fields in Aurea CRM that only contain an extension (e.g. the Tel. Ext. field in the Person info area) have been configured accordingly in the data model.

If the telephone number for the company was entered as 0 (for the switchboard), the 0 must be separated from the rest of the telephone number using a hyphen (-), e.g. 87855-0 (and not 878550).

If no hyphen is present, the wrong number is dialled when calling from a field that only contains an extension.

Example 1

Telephone number in the company record: 878550 (where 0 is the switchboard).

Extension in the person record: 123

Number called from the person record: 878550123; the connection cannot be established.

Example 2

Telephone number in the company record: 87855-0 (where 0 is the switchboard).

Extension in the person record: 123

Number called from the person record: 87855123; the correct number is dialled.
