Denying Access to Levels

Learn how to deny access to specific levels in the desktop settings.

These settings are cumulative, i.e. if access is denied to levels in a parent desktop, access is also denied to these levels in any child desktops, see Extended Desktops.

  • Disable the appropriate check boxes to deny access to the combination of levels:

In this example, the user cannot access the Mailing level from the Day Overview level, nor the Edit Mailing level from the Marketing Activity level.

If you disable the check box next to the Default Configuration entry, the user cannot access the level at all.

Note: These desktop settings only deny access to levels, not to info areas.Info area access is defined in the Rights module, see Defining Rights at the Info Area Level in the CRM.core Administrator Guide. If you deny access to the Activity info area, access is automatically denied to all levels that display activity data (Day Overview, Activity Overview etc.).

You can grant access to processes (levels, menu options, buttons) in the CRM Process Configuration level, either across the entire system or for specific roles, see CRM Process Configuration in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.
