Communicating Multi-language Catalog values

New catalog values should always be added in the catalog base language on the catalog maintenance station with translations entered in the corresponding columns.

For further details, see Multi-Language Catalogs in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.

If catalog values can also be added on other stations, they may not be added in the base language on those stations and need to be translated into the catalog base language on the catalog maintenance station.

In the following example, "Suisse" is added in French to the Country catalog on a branch office:

  1. After inputting the communication file on the catalog maintenance station, the catalog value is displayed in the catalog base language's column in the Catalog info area:

  2. Click on the catalog value.
  3. Click on (Edit) and enter "Switzerland".
  4. Click on OK.
  5. Select Apply Changes from the context menu to apply the change to all records using this catalog value, see Applying Changes to Catalogs in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.
  6. Enter translations in the other columns, see Editing Variable Catalogs in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.

The catalog value in all languages is communicated to branch offices the next time the catalog maintenance station communicates, see Automatic Catalog Maintenance.
