Service Requirements

To use the system, your organization must have:

  • Purchased Email Archive.
  • Installed the AMS components on the AMS server and performed a Directory Sync using the SyncManager. Any user/mailbox for whom you want to import mail must be present in AMS.
  • Set Email Archive retention policies for all users who will be designated as owners of an information store. The owner of an information store is the individual with whom a message is associated in the data center. The owner may or may not be the recipient or sender of the message.
  • For large Exchange 2010 imports, you may need to increase the values of the fields for the Exchange Server Application log, as per this Microsoft Support Note: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2742012/
  • When importing Exchange mailboxes, Exchange personal archives, or online PST files, the Import Manager server must be a member of the domain and have access to at least one Exchange server.
