Using the Instant Search Box
The Outlook Instant Search box appears above the email header listing box.
To search using this Instant Search box, first select a supported AMS Archive Store folder.
Several AMS Archive Store folders have been excluded from Outlook folder synchronization:
Drafts, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Conflicts, Local Failures, Server Failures, Sync Issues, Contacts, Calendar, Suggested Contacts.
NOTE
For Sent Items and Deleted Items the top-level folder itself will not be synced, but email messages in its child folders will be synced.
The folder named AMS Archive Store
searches all the messages in the Archive Store. The lower level folders, typically one or more email addresses, are not searchable. In the level below that, Inbox
searches all the messages that belong to that email address.
Selecting a folder will search only that folder, not sub-folders.
Once the folder has been selected, enter the search terms in the Instant Search box and click the search icon or hit the ENTER key.
NOTE
While the Archive Store is being searched, Outlook may appear to be frozen until the Store's results are ready to be returned.
The Outlook folder structure is synchronized before its contents. There could be a short time when the folder structure is available, but its email messages are not yet ready to be searched. Return at a later time to execute the search.
