Outlook Ribbon Messages
Outlook Extension Search displays messages in the Outlook ribbon in the AMS tab, within the Archives and Configuration sections.
The Search Archive field is described in the Email Archive section of this help system. The AMS Archive Store specific Outlook ribbon fields are:
Archive Connection Status Message

Connected to Archive: This is the normal status, indicating you are connected to the Archive server and ready to search. If it cannot connect, this message will not appear, and the AMS Archive Store will not be searchable through Outlook. |

Error Messages

This location will display error messages. Searching Deleted Items folder is not supported: The Deleted Items folder is not synced with the system, although sub-folders of the Deleted Items folder are synced. Select a specific sub-folder to search or select a different folder. Searching subfolders is not supported: This error message will be displayed if the user clicks on the All Subfolders link in the Outlook Search Tools tab. AMS Archive Store search only supports searches within the current folder. Selecting the top folder, named AMS Archive Store, and entering a search query searches all the messages in the Archive Store. Too many items in the selection: When more than 10 messages are selected from the Archive Store this error is displayed on the ribbon. Deselect these items and select 10 or fewer items. Message size exceeds download limit: If a message's total size (including the size of all attachments) is larger than the download limit, this status will be displayed in the ribbon and only part of the message header will be downloaded to Outlook. To download the message, access the Email Archive Webmail interface, from the Search Archive box in the AMS tab of the Outlook ribbon. Operation timed out: This status indicates the requested operation timed out when accessing the Archive server. Either repeat the operation or directly access the Email Archive service using the Webmail interface, from the Search Archive drop-down box in the AMS tab of the Outlook ribbon. |

Reminder Message |
This field is a reminder that the search results fields are empty when AMS Archive Store is first accessed. Once a query is entered in the Outlook Instant Search Box, Outlook will display results. |

AMS Tab Behavior Checkbox

When a new status message is to be displayed, the AMS Archive Store search feature's normal behavior is to cause the Outlook ribbon to switch to the AMS tab, so the message can be viewed. If you prefer to not have the Outlook ribbon tab automatically switched, check this checkbox. (This checkbox applies only to switching tabs when selecting Archive Store folders in order to remind user where to enter the query. Once this is cleared, the checkbox can be set.) |
