Limitations
Grouping of search results is not supported.
Since Outlook Extension search does not support grouping of search results, the Search Folder > New Search Folder... > Mail from and to specific people option may display an error message and incorrect results.
Depending on each individual company's Email Archive's implementation, features such as stemming or exact phrase matching may not be available to the Outlook Extension Search user.
Searching by attachment name or attachment contents may cause unexpected search results or may cause the search to not return any messages.
When a user selects a Search Folder in the AMS Archive Store, Outlook displays “0 items” in the bottom left corner of the status bar, even when the Search Folder contains valid search results.
After Instant Searching against the main Exchange mailbox, selecting the Search tab > Search Tools > Locations to Search > AMS Archive Store location is not supported.
Workarounds:
- Select Archive Store and perform search via Instant Search box.
- Use Advanced Find with Archive Store selected.
- Use Search Folders in Archive Store.
If Microsoft's 'LoadBehavior' Outlook Add-in registry key is used to disable Outlook Extension, on a system that is enabled for Outlook Integrated Search, it will still show the Archive Store in Outlook, however, it won't produce any search results.
