Tab Groups

A tab group consists of several tabs.

To create a tab group:

  1. Click on (Tab).
  2. Click on another tab on the mask.
  3. A message is displayed. Confirm the message with Yes.

Editing Tab Groups

To switch to a specific tab in the mask generator:

  • Select Options > Show all Elements, select the tab and click OK.
  • Click on the tab group and use the Tab key to navigate between tabs in the group.
  • Right-click on the tab group and select Show Next Tab from the popup menu.
  • Click on the tab group and select Options > Tab Group > Show Next Tab from the menu.
  • Select Options > Test Mask/List and click on the tab to test it. Select Options > Edit Mask/List to return to edit mode.

To remove a tab from a group or assign the tab to a new group using the mouse:

  1. Navigate to the desired tab.
  2. Hold down the Shift key and use the mouse cursor to drag the tab to the desired position.
    • Drag the tab to an empty area on the mask to remove the tab from the current tab group. Any buttons added to the mask and used to switch to this tab lose their function.
    • Drag the tab to another tab group to assign the tab to the new tab group. You are asked to confirm the assignment. Click on Yes.

      The tab is assigned to the new tab group.

To remove a tab from a group or assign the tab to a new group in the Tab Group Properties window:

  1. Navigate to the desired tab.
  2. Open the Tab Group Properties window.
  3. Select the target tab from the Transfer to Tab Grp. drop-down list.

    Select the empty entry (at the end of the list) to remove the tab from its current group. Any buttons added to the mask and used to switch to this tab lose their function.

  4. Confirm the message to adjust the position.
  5. Click on OK.

To change the order of tabs within a tab group:

  1. Select Options > Order from the menu.

    A list of all tabs and fields not assigned to tabs is displayed.

  2. Click on the name of the tab you wish to move and drag the line to the desired position.
  3. Click on OK.

Field Tab Order

To change the tab order of fields in a tab:

  1. Navigate to the desired tab.
  2. Select Options > Tab Group > Field Order from the menu.
  3. Select the field whose position you wish to change.
  4. Move the cursor to the desired position between two fields. Once the cursor changes, click to move the field.

    The selected field is moved.

  5. Click on OK.

Aligning Fields

To align the fields in a tab:

  1. Select the tab or a field to align the other fields with.
  2. Select Options > Tab Group > Field Order from the menu.

    If you selected a field in step 1, it is displayed under Align with Field.

  3. Select all the fields you wish to align in the Fields list.

    Enable Select All to select all the fields.

  4. If you did not select a field in step 1, you can now determine how to align the fields.
    • Left: Fields are assigned the position of the field furthest to the left.
    • Right: The right field borders are aligned with the right edge of the field furthest to the right.
  5. Determine the following settings:
    • Text: Field names are aligned.
    • Contents: Field contents are aligned.
    • Text length: All field names are set to the length of the longest field name. This option is only available if the Text check box is enabled.
    • Field lng : All field lengths are set to the length of the widest field. This option is only available if the Contents check box is enabled.
  6. Click on OK.

Defining Buttons to Switch Between Tabs

If you define tab groups without labels, you need to define buttons used to switch between the tabs:

  1. Define a new button and do not assign it to a tab.

    The Button Properties window opens.

  2. Select the tab the button should activate from the Tab group drop-down list.
  3. Enable the Switch tabs option under Attributes.
  4. Enter a caption for the button in the Text field.
  5. Click on OK.
  6. Define further buttons for the remaining tabs in the tab group.
  7. Save the mask.
