Customizing Package Formats on the Target Station
Learn how to customize formats in the package on the target station in order to meet the specific needs of end users.
For example, access rights may include a trigger, which must be extended or otherwise modified on the target station.
However, if you edit a format included in the package on the target station, and then upgrade the package, the edited format is overwritten by the format in the package.
To prevent the edited format from being overwritten when importing the package, you need to create a back-up of the original format on the target station in Aurea.CRM win, see Backing Up Formats . The original format is backed up under the name "<T>format name" ("<T>" for Template) and linked to the original format. You can then edit the format with the original name (live format), and any references in other formats continue to reference this format. When importing the package, the backup of the original format (i.e. the format whose name is preceded by "<T>") is updated. You can then update the live format on the target station if necessary.
You can revert to the backed up format included in the package by removing the copy, see Backing Up Formats . The live format is deleted and the backup copy is renamed to the original name (i.e. "<T>" is removed from the format name), meaning that this format becomes the live format and is again referenced by other formats.
Copies cannot be created for the following format types:
- User-specific formats
- Nameless formats (e.g. data model, CRM process configuration etc.)
- cockpit packages
