Importing and Exporting Packages

Learn how to transport packages.

In order to transport your package to another installation, you need to export the package from the source system and import it on the target system. Note that both installations require you to access CRM.cockpit; packages are both imported and exported with CRM.cockpit. Packages can be imported and exported using both the CRM.cockpit user interface and the command line, see Exporting Packages , Importing Packages and Command Line.

Note: You can define a default folder for import and export files in the Settings.xml file (ExportFolder/ImportFolder). If you define a default folder, this path is opened by default when selecting File > Export Package as .zip File/Import Package from .zip File from the menu). If you do not define a default folder, the last folder used is opened instead.

The following restrictions apply to importing packages:

  • Packages can only be imported on the station configured as the Main Office (in the Station info area), see Station in the Rights Module in the CRM.core Administrator Guide.
  • Catalog maintenance information can only be imported on the catalog maintenance station (Aut.Cat.Maintenance option in the Station info area).
  • Packages cannot be imported if a user is accessing the data model on the target system.

Packages are exported as .zip files. You need to copy the .zip file to the target system and then use CRM.cockpit to import the .zip file.

Note: Any user can export a package, but only the SU can import a package.
