Invoice Presentation Interface

Learn about how invoices are presented once they are generated.

The Invoice Details is viewed via Customer Summary > AR/Billing tab and selecting the Invoice ID. The image below shows an example of the Supplier Consolidated Model invoicing detail.

Some Customers may have only one premise and one meter as shown above, while other Customers might have multiple premises and meters as shown in the image below. Invoicing details of each meter are listed.

Invoice Details page contains the following functional information:

  • Invoice Summary
  • Invoice Charge Summary
  • Invoice Usage Summary

Invoice Summary

The Invoice Summary section presents the invoice information such as the Print Status, Rate Code, Post Date, Billing Type, Days in Service etc.

By selecting View Utility Charges link, TDSP Charges details is displayed as shown below.

Note: The summation of each item should be equal to the total TDSP charges listed on the invoice.

Click the icon next to View Utility Charges link for an option to send the TDSP Invoice details via email.

Invoice Charge Summary

CIS calculates the total charges and breaks it into different items depending on meter reads and charges. The Invoice Total Charges include:
  • Energy Charges This is based on meter consumptions and Customer rate as illustrated in Invoice Summary section.
  • TDSP Charges These are charges on Transmission and Distribution services and applies only to Supplier Consolidated Billing Model.
  • Sales Tax It is calculated based on GeoCode, and Tax Rate. Different tax may apply to different Customers based on the applicable Tax information in the Invoice Usage Summary (state, city, county levels).
  • Other charges include Regulatory Charges, Budget or Average Billing, etc.

    In the example shown above, the Customer has two meters. The total Energy Charges are $536.04, Total TDSP Charges are $176.70, Sales Taxes are $58.80, Regulatory Charges are $15.41, and the Invoice Total is $786.95.

Invoice Usage Summary

The Usage Summary section includes the following details:
  • Utility Account - This is the same as the ESI ID.
  • Meter # - The metering device or source of meter reads.
  • Rate Code - The specific Rate Code applied to the account.
  • Total Usage - This is the measured consumption.
  • Demand KW of KVA quantity
  • Service Period The covered dates for the consumption.
  • Days Total # of days based on the Service Period.

Usage Summary also shows the Tax Flags per ESI ID information where N = not taxable and Y = taxable. The different taxes that can be applied to Customers include:

  • S = State
  • C = County
  • Ci = City
  • SP = Local or Special Districts
