Special Upgrade Logic for Non-template Stations

Learn about the info areas that are updated when importing package generated on a template station to a non-template station.

When importing a package generated on a template station (station number >=10,00) on a non-template station (station number <10,000) that already contains the package, records in the following info areas are only updated if they meet specific criteria:

  • MC (Configuration)
  • Z6 (Variable Value)
  • M1 (Tenant)
  • AS (Station)
  • R2 (Login Role)
  • A000 (Template Configuration Table)
  • A001 (Configuration Translation)

Records that have been updated in these info areas on a non-template station (i.e. the entry in the Updated on Station field (4203) is < 10,000 and Updated in Module (4205) is not "cockpit") are not updated when importing. The affected records are written to the log file and can be viewed in the import history, see Import/Export History.

Variable values (Z6) are compared to existing variable values when upgrading. If the target database already contains a variable value with identical settings, the Z6 record is not imported (status Ignore) again.

Note: Records where the Update on Station field is empty are overwritten by the import process.
