Upgrading Aurea List Manager 5.0 through 6.1
The upgrade process to Aurea List Manager 12 varies depending on which version you are currently using. To perform the upgrade from version 5, you must go through the upgrade process five times and download the right installers from support.aurea.com.
- Upgrade 5 through 6.1.
- Upgrade to 7.0.
- Upgrade from 7.0 to 8.9c.
- Upgrade from 8.9c to 9.3D.
- Upgrade from 9.3D to 10.x.

Lyris Technologies no longer tests upgrades from versions 6.1 and earlier.

Important
Lyris recommends that you backup your database before upgrading. For information on backing up MSDE, see Backing Up MSDE. For other databases, please consult your vendor's documentation.
Upgrading Aurea List Manager on Windows
- Shut down Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Double click on the Aurea List Manager installer icon.
- When running the Aurea List Manager installer, select Upgrade instead of New Install and provide the installer with the path where Aurea List Manager's installation folder is. The installer automatically copies the data if necessary, and upgrade the database.
Note
Upgrading the database may take several hours, depending on the size of your data.
- Allow the installer to start Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Close Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server, and then upgrade three more times according to the instructions listed at the beginning of this topic.
Upgrading Aurea List Manager on Linux
- Shut down Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Untar and unzip the Aurea List Manager installer.
- Cd to the directory created by the Aurea List Manager installer.
- Run the following command to start the installer:
./install_lm.pl
- When running the Aurea List Manager installer, select Upgrade instead of New Install and provide the installer with the path where Aurea List Manager 's installation folder is. The installer automatically copies the data if necessary, and upgrade the database.
- Allow the installer to start Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Close Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server, and then upgrade three more times according to the instructions listed at the beginning of this topic.
