Upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.x
You can upgrade directly to 10.x if you are upgrading from ListManager 9.2 or 9.3.
On the other hand, you must upgrade twice if you are upgrading from ListManager 9.0 or 9.1:
- Upgrade from 9.0 or 9.1 to 9.3D.
- Upgrade from 9.3D to 10.x.
Upgrading ListManager (Windows)
Note
- Read Important information about reducing upgrade time before upgrading.
- Upgrading the database may take several hours, depending on the size of your data.
- Shut down Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Double click on the Aurea List Manager installer icon.
- Do one of the following:
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.0 or 9.1, upgrade to 9.3D. When running the Aurea List Manager installer, select Upgrade instead of New Install and provide the installer with the path where Aurea List Manager's installation folder is. The installer automatically copies the data if necessary, and upgrades the database.
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.2 or 9.3, upgrade to 10.x. When running the Aurea List Manager installer, select Upgrade instead of New Install, and provide the installer with the path where Aurea List Manager's installation folder is. The installer automatically copies the data if necessary, and upgrades the database.
- Allow the installer to start Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Do one of the following:
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.0 or 9.1, close Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server. Upgrade one more time to 10.x.
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.2 or 9.3, no further steps are necessary.
Upgrading ListManager Unix
Note
- Read Important information about reducing upgrade time before upgrading.
- Upgrading the database may take several hours, depending on the size of your data.
- Shut down Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Untar or unzip the Aurea List Manager installer.
- Cd to the directory created by the Aurea List Manager installer.
- Run the following command to start the installer:
./install_lm.p
- Do one of the following:
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.0 or 9.1, upgrade to 9.3D. When running the Aurea List Manager installer, select Upgrade instead of New Install, and provide the installer with the path where Aurea List Manager 's installation folder is. The installer automatically copies the data if necessary, and upgrades the database.
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.2 or 9.3, upgrade to 10x. When running the Aurea List Manager installer, select Upgrade instead of New Install, and provide the installer with the path where Aurea List Manager 's installation folder is. The installer automatically copies the data if necessary, and upgrades the database.
- Allow the installer to start Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server.
- Do one of the following:
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.0 or 9.1, close Aurea List Manager and the Aurea List Manager web server. Upgrade one more time to 10.
- If you are upgrading from Aurea List Manager 9.2 or 9.3: No further steps are necessary.

Note
- Aurea List Manager 7.5 and above no longer support the Perl-based web interface that is shipped with previous versions of Aurea List Manager. LCP is also no longer supported, which may have been used to create custom scripts.
- If you have been using the old interface extensively or using custom scripting to run certain portions of Aurea List Manager before Aurea List Manager 7.5, including list member signup forms, please contact support at support.aurea.com before upgrading.
- The database owner owns new tables created by Aurea List Manager in MSSQL. In versions before 8.1, the Aurea List Manager tables are owned by the user.
