Editing the Layout and Field Attributes

Your administrator can determine that you can access CRM.designer to edit the fields displayed in an info area.

You can add further fields in the info area to the mask, for example, or edit field attributes.

If you are able to customize an info area, the (Adjust Layout & Fields) button is displayed in the info area’s tab view.

To edit a mask and field attributes:

  1. Click on (Adjust Layout & Fields). CRM.designer is opened and the control is displayed, see CRM.designer User Interface.
  2. The initial configuration (*SelfAdmin) is read-only. In order to edit the fields, you first need to copy the field group to the *SelfAdminDev configuration by clicking on Copy to configuration. This button is only displayed in read-only mode.
  3. Customize the control. You can:
    • Add fields: Click on the desired field in the list of fields and drag it to the desired panel.

You can enter a search term (field name or number) to restrict the fields displayed in the list. To remove a field, select it and press the Del key.

    • Add fields in related info areas: Click on Add linked Fields beneath the list of fields to add a field in a related info area.

For more information, see Add Linked Fields in the Aurea CRM web Administrator Guide.

    • Add a new panel: Click on Add new Tab/Group. Panels are indicated with the icon. Click on to remove a panel (or combined field).
    • Add combined fields: Click on Add new Combined Field. Drag the fields you want to combine in the field to the combined field. Combined fields are indicated with the icon. A combined field displays information from multiple fields in a single field in view mode.

Combined fields are displayed at the end of the list of fields (below the non-field elements). Combined fields can be assigned to panels in the same way as normal fields.

For more information, see Defining Combined Fields in the Aurea CRM web Administrator Guide.

    • Add special characters: You can add elements used to structure the view (e.g. line feeds and separators) in the same way as fields. These elements (non-field elements) are displayed at the end of the list of fields.

For more information, see Non-Field Elements in the Aurea CRM web Administrator Guide.

  4. Save your settings. Changes are saved to the *SelfAdminDev configuration and the changes are displayed immediately in Aurea CRM web.
  5. To discard your changes, click on (Delete) in the toolbar. The *SelfAdminDev configuration is reset to its original status.
  6. To retain your changes, click on Publish to Parent Configuration. The changes are copied to the *SelfAdmin configuration. The changes are now available to all users after logging in again.

The Publish to Parent Configuration button is only active once you have saved you changes.
