Deleting a Custom Properties File

When a custom properties file is deleted, AlertFind reverts to using the defaults originally provisioned with the application. The default properties file cannot be deleted.

CAUTION

There is no way to recover a deleted custom file. Support recommends that you download and safely archive a copy of any custom files you create before you delete them from AlertFind.

To delete a custom properties file and revert to defaults:

  1. From the left navigation menu Administration section, click Application Settings .
  2. Under the Customization Settings section, click the Edit button that appears next to the custom properties file to delete:
  • Prompts
  • Constants
  • Date and Time Formats
  • Dictionary
  1. Download a copy of the custom file to be deleted and archive it for safekeeping. See Downloading a Properties File for instructions.
  2. Select the custom properties file to be deleted.
  1. Select Delete from the list of file options.
  2. Select the Locale of the custom file to be deleted, if multiple languages are available.

CAUTION

Support cannot recreate custom files. Ensure you have a backup copy before you delete the file.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Confirm the deletion by clicking OK.
