Uploading a Custom Properties File

A newly uploaded custom file completely replaces the content of the previous custom file. Be sure that the new custom file contains all of the fields to customize. Any fields not listed in the custom file reverts to the values specified by the default file.

To upload a custom properties file:

  1. From the left navigation menu Administration section, click Application Settings .
  2. Under the Customization Settings section, click the Edit button that appears next to the type of properties file to upload:
  • Prompts
  • Constants
  • Date and Time Formats
  • Dictionary

  1. Select the custom properties file to be uploaded.
  1. Select Upload from the list of file options.
  2. Click Browse to specify the custom properties file to be uploaded.
  3. Select the Locale of the custom file to be uploaded, if multiple languages are available.

CAUTION

The system does not validate that the file name or content of a custom file matches the expected naming convention or content for the selected language. Therefore, it is possible to upload a German file in place of a custom English file, or vice versa. Be sure to upload the custom file for the language selected.

  1. Click Save.

If the file contains errors, the system displays an error message and does not upload the file. If the file is valid, the system uploads the file and returns you to the Settings page.

NOTE

It may take up to 30 minutes of system inactivity for changes to be noticeable in AlertFind interfaces. This means customizations may not appear until all users are logged off and the system is idle for 30 minutes.
