Step 2: Exporting the Package

The second step is to export the package.

In order to import the configuration items added to the package on the target machine, the package needs to be exported as a .zip file.

  1. Select FileExport Package as .zip File from the menu.
  2. Choose where to save the .zip file and enter a name. The name of the package followed by the current date and time is suggested by default.
  3. A dialog box is displayed. Set the export type to Full and choose to export all items using the check boxes.
  4. A dialog box is displayed. You can determine which processes to include in the .zip file.

    Make sure to include the process you defined.

  5. Choose Full as the Export Type to export the entire package. Enable all the Items to Export to export all the items in the package.
  6. Enable This is an initial package, as this is the first export.
  7. Enable Save this export for future upgrades to add the export to the list of exports. You can then select this export (from the Upgrade for cockpit Package drop-down list) when next exporting the template in order to only export the updated items the next time in order to upgrade the target system, see Step 4: Updating the Package.
  8. Click on Next.
  9. Choose to export the process you defined (leave the check box enabled). Click on Next.
  10. Click on Next. Check that Export all catalog values is enabled.
  11. Click on Next. An overview of your settings is displayed. Verify that you have included the process.
  12. Click on Start Export.

    The package is exported. You can choose to view an overview of the status of the items in the package once the export is complete.
