Relationship Deletion Permission

The relationship delete permissions determine who has permission to delete a relationship based on the relationship type being defined and lifecycle status. If a user do not have permissions or a parent document is not in an allowable status, the delete link does not appear for the user next to the relationship on the Document Relationship (DR) User Interface (UI).

The users with allowable permissions are:

• Site owners, members, custom groups or users
• Document author of a specific document

The above two options are not mutually exclusive. For example, an administrator can specify a custom group and/or user(s) and a document author.

Permissions are granted for specific lifecycle status. For example, an administrator may allow the document author to delete a relationship when the parent document is in a draft status, and grant a business administrators with SharePoint group permission to delete the relationship when the parent document is in either a draft, a review or an approved status.
