Your Aurea List Manager serial number
When Aurea List Manager is purchased, a serial number is provided by your account representative. The serial number is used for one server running Aurea List Manager at a time.
Your serial number should be kept private, as it is your proof of ownership. It is used to register and activate your Aurea List Manager server.
Updating your serial number manually
Your serial number is automatically registered and activated if you applied it when installing or updating Aurea List Manager.
Aurea List Manager installed using a temporary serial number or running on a demo version, can have its serial number updated through the web interface by following the steps below:
- Log into Aurea List Manager as a server administrator.
- Navigate to Utilities > Administration > Server > Server Settings > Machine Settings to fill in your serial number and save the page. For more information, see Server Settings and Machine/Node Settings.
- You can also update your serial number by running the following command on the command line:
lm serial code
and substitute your serial number for code
.
Updating your activation code manually
Installing Aurea List Manager with your serial number provides you with an activation code immediately.
If you upgraded your license, your activation code is automatically updated within 24 hours.
Aurea List Manager can be activated immediately by logging in as a server administrator.
Follow the steps below to update your activation code manually:
- Navigate to Utilities > Administration > Server > Operational Statistics > License Capabilities and click on the
Get Activation
button. - You can also run
get activation
from the command line using:
lm getactivation

- Restart Aurea List Manager (both the backend and the webserver) by restarting your server or by restarting the services. For more information, see Windows Services.
- Your Aurea List Manager activation code is updated after the restart.
Clearing your activation code
When Aurea List Manager needs to be moved to another machine or if you need to change the network card on the Aurea List Manager server, you need to clear your activation code for the server before making the change.
Follow the steps below to do this:
- Run the
clearactivation
code from the command line:
lm clearactivation
.
- Once you have cleared your activation code, enter your serial code, and update your activation code for your new Aurea List Manager server.
