Recall

This recall feature allows a user a recall a given print when the user has either retrieved a printed copy or requested the return of a printed copy. Since the recall operation takes the printed copy out of circulation, there are no additional actions performed on that record. Typically the recall operation is performed on a document that is expired.

To recall a controlled print document:

  1. Click Recall button. The system presents the Recall Controlled Print window which contains the following three sections:
    • Document Information - Contains a document name and a version.
    • Printout Information - Contains Printout ID, Label, Status, Expired By, Expired On, and Expired Reason details. The Expired By field is pre-populated with details by the system.
    • Print Action Information - Requires the user to enter a reason for the recall operation.
  2. Enter a reason for recalling the document in the Reason For Recall textbox
  3. Click Submit. If the textbox is blank when the request is submitted, an error message is displayed and the action will not be completed.
