Controlled Printing Options
A document that is managed under version control is considered as a control copy. In a version controlled environment, all revisions of a document are maintained and controlled in the system. Controlled printing permissions are based on site level role-based permissions.
Controlled printing options identify a printed copy as the latest approved version of the document. As the permission levels are defined at a site level, you do not need to define them for a library or a content type.
Check the Enable Controlled Printing box to enable the controlled printing feature. You can configure the following optional features for controlled printing:
- Apply a pre-configured overlay template at the time the document is printed
- Configure the look of the banner that is printed at the bottom of each page:
- Define the text that is printed on the banner
- Determine the color of the text
- Select either Date Only or Date and Time to designate when the copy was printed
- Configure a custom label for the NextDocs (ECB) menu.
The following table describes the configuration properties of the optional features.
