Search suggestions
The typeahead search functionality also contains search suggestions. This is based on the out of the box SharePoint search engine and can be configured per the following documentation in Microsoft portal:
- Manage query suggestions in SharePoint Server
- Customize query suggestions in SharePoint Search for Office 365
The search suggestions appear at the top of the type ahead search box and are done in real time as the user searches.
