Metadata - Overview
This Section explains how Bonzai Intranet uses the SharePoint managed metadata service and provides details about the properties that are involved in configuring metadata-related features.
From a governance and administrative perspective, using SharePoint’s Term Store can be extremely important, therefore the Bonzai Intranet product makes use of this feature to drive its navigation, topic tags, and content targeting.
The use of this feature, however, can become especially complicated in scenarios where Bonzai Intranet is utilized on several site collections and there is a desire to reuse terms rather than duplicate them.
Bonzai Intranet Considerations
To be used by Bonzai Intranet, any Site Collection’s term sets for Navigation and Content Targeting must exist within a single Term Group. The same does not apply to the Document Category, Page Category, or Tag term sets, which can exist in a separate Term Group, is desired.
