Disaster Recovery Plan

This section covers instructions to be followed in the event of a catastrophic service interruption or critical service degradation impacting AlertFind.

Prerequisite Configuration Settings

You must ensure that all location-specific settings provided by Support have been configured, such as white-listing the MTA host names and IP addresses. For your location specific settings, refer to:

These settings ensure that AlertFind will work even during catastrophic service interruptions or critical service degradation issues.

Actions

In the event of a catastrophic service interruption or critical service degradation issue, these steps should be followed:

  1. Each organization will receive a communication from Support stating that their primary AlertFind web address is unavailable and will not be coming back up. Support will send this communication to AlertFind customer contacts through the standard notification process.
  2. Each organization’s users will need to login to their AlertFind backup web address to obtain access to the AlertFind application.
  3. If the SOAP API is being used for contact data management or notification sending, the URL used to access SOAP API will need to be changed to the backup SOAP API configuration.
  4. AlertFindSupport will move each organization’s Hotlines to their backup instance of AlertFind.

Once these steps have been completed, AlertFind can immediately be used to send out notifications.
